Their Love

A mid-August afternoon
he kissed her;
silence droned in her ears,
her heart wrenched
with emotions almost painful –
her heart throbbed,
’cause someone loved her so –
if he had kissed her
for hours,
it wouldn’t have sufficed.
Yet, with a single touch,
she knew she loved him
and he loved her as much.
She wanted to be closer –
under his skin –
with no time and space
between them.
She wished
nothing else mattered but –
their love

They Always Leave

His words wound around her fragile heart
like a vengeful venomous snake
to strike again with malice

she stood stupefied and motionless
trails of tears slithered down
the hill of her bony check

with careful intent he folded his clothes
she watched him pack his bags
swing it over his shoulders

in utmost grace he walked to the door
she held him back by his bag
and broke down crying

a broken heart to nurse, wet eyes to dry
why do they always leave her
making promises at first

she will stumble through life for answers
nobody can answer her questions
she will go back to being her

Comforting me

My head on his chest
I listened to his heart beat
faster
more than normal
it sounded
somehow
it wasn’t lust
it wasn’t love
it was an understanding
the need to hold a woman
who had been deprived
the warmth of a man’s embrace
for too long
the need to comfort
another human
controlling his lust
though it hurt
it served the purpose
of comforting
a sad soul

A chance meeting

http://www.corbisimages.com

There he is again
not that I don’t want to see him
but then there is this feeling
which resurfaces
every time I see him
and whenever we hug cordially
it feels like he will never let go
but then again
who am I trying to fool
because he never came to stay
even if he still let me
sit on his lap
and offers to drop me home
after a late night
we will be out of touch
as we chose to remain
until next time we meet
by chance

When can I start feeling for you?

http://www.qualityoflifecare.com/?p=223

Be not afraid
for I shall not demand
you for answers
I shall not question
your entry into my world
for you cannot predict your own steps
nor shall I ask you
how
why
when
you started feeling for me
but I shall answer your question
how I let myself feel for you easily
why I let myself go
in a very short time –
there is no time frame
to start feeling for someone
or to fall in love
sometimes it takes a lifetime
sometimes it happens in a blink of an eye
I did not pre-plan our meeting
nor did I plan for you to feel for me
I couldn’t have known that if I felt the same
you would question my feelings
I was trying to sync with you
you gave me your hand
when I gave you mine
you withdrew yours
pardon my naive heart
it didn’t wait a lifetime but
in a blink of an eye
started feeling for you
be not afraid
for I shall not hang on
you shall be free

(I wrote this after a friend of mine told me about how a woman is expected not to like a man before he likes her and even after that, she should take time to feel for the man; how a man says ‘start’ and a relationship starts and when he says ‘stop’ it stops. This maybe subjective. I am not generalizing; just an experience of a friend.)

Hurt was Never so Hurtful

Love
times after
hits you
right at your heart
moments of love
moments of silence
aftermath
moments of masking
last thread
of bond
snaps
with very sharp
painful
sound
echoing
in your heart
tears break free
from your eyes
hurt was never
so hurtful

Living and loving

Stop sometimes
take a deep breath
turn to look back
at things
and be thankful
for the things and people you have
in your life
let your ego down
open your heart
let love enter
life isn’t so bad after all
learn to live
not just for yourself
also for the people
around you
for those who
care for you
