2015 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,200 times in 2015. If it were a cable car, it would take about 20 trips to carry that many people.

Their Love

A mid-August afternoon
he kissed her;
silence droned in her ears,
her heart wrenched
with emotions almost painful –
her heart throbbed,
’cause someone loved her so –
if he had kissed her
for hours,
it wouldn’t have sufficed.
Yet, with a single touch,
she knew she loved him
and he loved her as much.
She wanted to be closer –
under his skin –
with no time and space
between them.
She wished
nothing else mattered but –
their love

Heaven cannot be far away

In the silence of the night
past midnight
I sat puffing a cigarette
listening to the country night
the sound of crickets
away from city night,
the roar of motors;
watching the insects dance in the moon,
television sets at rest;
fresh smell of grasses,
colognes at their sources;
heaven cannot be out of reach
as they say
high up in the sky
heaven cannot be for good souls only
like they taught
and here I was
in the silence of the night
past midnight
I sat puffing a cigarette
beside the stream
which flowed
in heaven

Hurt was Never so Hurtful

Love
times after
hits you
right at your heart
moments of love
moments of silence
aftermath
moments of masking
last thread
of bond
snaps
with very sharp
painful
sound
echoing
in your heart
tears break free
from your eyes
hurt was never
so hurtful

THE SILENCE

I listen to the silence
it is all around me
I try to block it
its too much for my frail soul
I put on the TV
and silence still rings loud in my head
I try to block it
for I think I am going crazy
for no one talks of hearing it
but I hear it
and I think I am going crazy
but again i think, haven’t
an infant heard silence when it suckled at it’s mother’s breast?
when a soldier waited for a war to begin?
when an artist waited to perform?
I am not crazy for
these days silence
speaks louder than words
hatred speaks louder than love
lies speak louder than truth
so it is possible silence speaks
louder than noise
I listen to the silence around me
