Raining Sunshine

The over cast sky loomed
clouds rolled as in rage
thunder roared like cannons
moisture hung in the air

wind swept-up sand from the river
fallen leaves danced in clouds of dust
birds caught rainbows in their wings
plants breathe life, with joy

shiny dark droplets of water
came pouring down
beating up dust off the ground
first rain of another season

as if a cannon shot through
the clouds parted and disseminated
leaving a patch of clear blue sky
for the sun to shine through

it is going to be a good season

  1. leaving a patch of clear blue sky
for the sun to shine through …

I hope we will all have piece of clear blue sky and let the sun shine on us … We had a lovely day here today, sunny and not so wintry. Lovely to read this, as I’ve been enjoying the weather all day, the hopeful end at your poem made it even better!

Hope all is fine. Happy day/night! Besos!

  2. I love this picture and poem. I just love it when the sun’s rays can be seen beaming through the clouds…. and I have a few similar type pictures of my own… but, this…. this is really special. thank you.
