Band-Wagon-Tag

Why did you start blogging?
I started writing since I can remember. First it was childhood fantasies, next it was teenage romance, a young woman’s fairy tales and now it is an adult’s expression of the realities of life.

Initially, it started out as journal entries. It’s been just a year I started sharing my work under a pseudonym. Finally a friend talked me into blogging and created this blog for me.

If you could travel anywhere in the world with no restriction of costs, where would it be and why?
I would want to go to South Africa and see the wild life there; go on a safari, sleep in the bush under some dry trees and gaze at the stars and listen to the sound of the night. It is still a place where nature is as it is. I would want to go there to be close to nature (though our country, Bhutan, is one of the top ranked countries in nature conservation, South African will be a change.) If I am given a long stay, I would like to work there.

Another place would be Paris to see the Eiffel Tower and to visit Louvre to see the legacy of great artist; it’s been a lifelong dream.

I would like to go to the top of Mount Everest, sit up there, have a cup of coffee and look as far as my eyes can see; take some pictures too.

Did you have a teacher in school that had a great influence on your life? If so, what?
I had an Indian teacher when I was in lower grade. He was a terror and if we failed in his paper (his pass mark would be 15 marks more than the standard pass mark of the school,) he would cane us for the marks we failed to score. As much as he was a terror, he taught well and he was quite forthcoming, impartial and very bold in his conduct. I learned that it was okay to do the right thing even if people thought otherwise; that everyone is equal irrespective of one’s birth, family, wealth and appearance.

There was another teacher in my Jr High. I was good in English since my lower grade, but he taught me to write and use English in the right way. Some of his exercises are still vivid in my memories and they all had a big influence in helping me speak and write better English. He encouraged free thinking.

If you could spend the day with a famous person, who would it be and what would you do?
I would spend the day with Nelson Mandela. I would sit with him over a cup of coffee and discuss his autobiography, ‘A Long Walk to Freedom’, and also discuss his life; his acquaintance with some great people of his time. I would let him know he inspires me to be a better person. I would also learn some African words from him.

Another person I would like to meet would be the Dalai Lama. I would listen to his understanding of life, world and religion.

Among the dead, I would want to meet Adolf Hitler. I would discuss the World war with him; his life, family and I would like to ask him why he did what he did.

Toilet paper –over or under?
Hmmm…Funny but very important. Always has been over for me.

Name one thing in your life that you would do over if possible.
Every step I took in life, whether a success story or a failure, it shaped me into the person I am. Because of all the choices I made in life, the mistakes, the joys –made me a better person. If I undid anyone of those moments, I wouldn’t be blogging on WordPress nor would Christine have tagged me in this game. I have learned and I try not to live with regrets.

Tell about your pets – if any.
I had a dog when I was a kid. He was more of a family member than a pet. I would take him everywhere I went, and no one would dare do anything to him in my presence. He died in my absence and my mom didn’t tell me about it for a month. It broke my heart but I know he is in a better place.

Do you live in a small town or a large town?
I live in a small town going by the standard of the world, or we can call it a village for that matter but going by the standard of our country, I live in the second biggest town of our country. It’s a business hub and shares a porous border with India.

I tag the following friends to participate in one or both of these games by posting it to their blog or commenting to this post.

  1. Wonderful answers. I enjoyed reading about you :3 Isn’t the internet a wonderful thing that people like us living halfway around the world can communicate and become friends?

I especially liked your answers to meeting famous people. Adolf Hitler is a really interesting choice. Have you even seen the movie Der Untergang (“Downfall”)? It’s a German movie about Hitler during his final days. You actually see him cry. I think it’s the only movie that doesn’t portray him as a completely evil demonic figure, just a human being with horrifying ideals and the power to make them come true. I really think he loved his wife.

    1. Thank you Christine, I left a thank you note on your blog. It is wonderful that we get to meet people at all times (it’s 3.15 am here :D) with similar interests.

Eva Braun was his life long companion but they were married for just a day. You are right he was just a human being. I wanted to write more in my answer but… Lol…

I watched the movie few times; it is a good movie and I think one of the most accurate depiction of his life and politics.

I am learning to move around WordPress. Thank you

  2. I am moved, touched and inspired.
I travel, think, dream and wonder.
I got thoughts full in my mind. And you made me want to write down my thoughts.
I haven’t updated my blog for so long and didn’t feel the need to let the world know of my thoughts but I am inspired to write it down.

Thanks for the inspiration. Take care and be happy.
